Italy 1917, Giuseppe Ratti, a photographer and optician began an adventure destined to lead to international success. He started to make technical glasses, which were more advanced than any thing of its time - his aim was to design glasses which would satisfy the demands of pilots and sports driver who wanted comfort, protection and optimum vision. They were soon adopted by armed forces and air forces around the world. Persol glasses have been worn by international movie stars who have chose the excellent Italian sunglasses not only on the big screen but also in their every day life. Persol's connection to the movie industry started way back in the 60s and their love for it continues to grow today.
