MHI Men's Countdown T-shirt
Countdown tee inspired by the classic Metropolis movie.
The Spring/Summer 08 MHI collection explores the theme "No Future", taking inspiration from dystopian pop culture classics such as metropolis, 1984 and Soylent Green, and focus their attention on the startling similarities between these fictional societies and our own 21st century world.
The collection comprises of classic military and work-wear styles, each given a unique twist and all featuring MHI`s customary attention to detail.
The tee features a classic clock graphic with blood running from the collar and clock. The inspiration comes from the classic 1927 silent movie Metropolis, and in particular the memorable scene in Fritz Lang`s groundbreaking piece, where the Beleaguered Iconic Worker is pushed to exhaustion in the clearly meaningless work of moving the clock hands around on the Big Futuristic Machine he’s charged to attend.
Maybe controversial, the tee is definatly one of the stronger pieces in the collection.
2001 saw the launch of MHI, a second line from Maharishi that has etched a distinct identity with strong graphics and themes, while maintaining the same level of quality and detailing that maharishi is famous for. MHI collections integrate limited edition prints and embroideries of graphic work by guest artists such as graffiti legend Futura 2000, Kaws, RoStarr and Sharp. Each season, Blechman collaborates with new talent on artwork. |
