The tee is produced as part of the Highly Exclusive "Cities by Artists" collection which see`s some of the worlds finest artists and designers do their thing, using inspiration from their favourite cities.
This edition sees Kazuki Kuraishi pay homage to Tokyo, Japan.
Kazuki could be called a "jack of all trades", a freelance designer who is also an integral part of Fragment, the design office of Hiroshi Fujiwara.
As part of the Fragment collective, he is actively part of the design process for the likes of Neighborhood, Levis Fenom, iDiom and Visvim, aswell as designing sleeve covers (amongst various other projects) for underground Japanese music artists.
The front of the tee features a picture of the great Tokyo Tower with the back naming the various Tokyo Districts.
A great additon, Adidas have included a personalised artist tag on each tee.

When Adi Dassler began what was to become one of the biggest success stories ever, he followed three guiding principles in his development work, driven by his passion for sports and shoemaking: to produce the best shoe to serve the needs of the sport, to protect the athlete for injury and to make the product durable,Adidas was being born. The story began in his mothers washroom, a space of around 200 square foot, with no machinery and no electricity. Dassler, with two hired shoemakers, began producing 100% hand-made leather shoes. At the age of 23, Adi convinced his brother Rudolf to join the business from which they register their small business as "Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory". The rest they say is history and the Adidas Originals collection was introduced to pay homage to some of the best design silhouettes ever produced. |
