Adidas Micropacer 1984 Trainers
In 1984, the running world was shook with the birth of the Adidas MICROPACER, the very first shoe with a built-in microcomputer. If you didn't buy one back then, Adidas are giving you another chance. Launching in a special colourway, it will feature a full leather upper, a rubber outsole, and the same microprocessor as the original MICROPACER. Only 1,984 pairs available worldwide.
When Adi Dassler began what was to become one of the biggest success stories ever, he followed three guiding principles in his development work, driven by his passion for sports and shoemaking: to produce the best shoe to serve the needs of the sport, to protect the athlete for injury and to make the product durable,Adidas was being born.
The story began in his mothers washroom, a space of around 200 square foot, with no machinery and no electricity. Dassler, with two hired shoemakers, began producing 100% hand-made leather shoes. At the age of 23, Adi convinced his brother Rudolf to join the business from which they register their small business as "Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory".
The rest they say is history and the Adidas Originals collection was introduced to pay homage to some of the best design silhouettes ever produced. |
