Men's vintage denim jeans
Hailed as the definitive five-pocket jean, the 1947 version became the quintessential 501®. In short supply during the war (when several key features were removed to save on metal and fabric), once fighting was over and the restrictions imposed on wartime manufacturing had been abolished, the latest 501® was in huge demand.
The trademark Acurate Stiching Design ® was now stiched with a double-needle machine, giving it the characteristic "diamond" shape at the point where the two lines met. The original Levi's zinc buttons were back, but the crotch rivet and cinch back were gone for good. Instead, belt loops were standard issue.
Bearing the real-leather Two Horse ® patch, and manuactured from red XX selvedge using Cone Mill deep-tone indigo, when the jeans are aged the colour blossoms into the purest redcast indigo.
