Lyle & Scott |

Born in 1874, Lyle & Scott was founded by friends William Lyle and Walker Scott who borrowed £1,300 to form a small knitting company in Hawick, Scotland and began to manufacture high quality hosiery and underwear. It wasn`t until 1926 that the company began to produce the items that would change their destiny forever. Responding to market changes, they began to manufacture knitted outerwear for the golfing market. Their appeal was recognised by French artisan Christian Dior in 1954 who produced possibly the first collaboration of its kind, with a collection designed by Dior and double-branded with Lyle & Scott and Dior names. The vintage collection was launched to pay homage to the successes of the brand and is inspired by the colourful Golf designs of the 70`s and 80`s, all of which bear the distinct Gold Eagle logo. |
